Opportunities for Energy Research

Opportunities for Energy Research (Spectroscopy and Imaging)

organisation: M. Nachtegaal, J.P. Embs, F. Marone

duration: 1.0 days

location: OSGA/E6

scope:

The energy challenge ('transforming energy') in Switzerland aims at finding solutions and contributions towards a sustainable energy policy. The large research facilities at the Paul Scherrer Institute offer a wealth of very powerful (in situ) techniques, such as X-ray and neutron based tomography, spectroscopy and diffraction which have contributed in the development of many new energy technologies.

This workshop aims at bringing together researchers that work on technological innovations (for example energy storage, energy conversion technologies) with leading users of the large research facilities to discuss possibilities and needs to tackle the energy challenge together.
