Description

Diamond-II is the fourth generation synchrotron upgrade proposed at Diamond Light Source, UK. This new machine consists of a MBA lattice to reduce the horizontal emittance of the electron beam, thus offering the scientific community the opportunity to exploit much brighter and coherent photon beams over a large energy range. To deliver these high quality beams to the beamlines, the emittance of the electron beam in the storage ring must be monitored. In this talk, an overview of the conceptual design of Diamond-II with an emphasis on emittance monitoring will be presented.
