CATCH proudly announces the next Open Science Workshop 9-13 May 2022 to discuss atmospheric chemistry research, with a focus on natural processes specific to cold regions of the Earth.

Day 1 - 9 May: Linking biogeochemistry to aerosol-cloud interactions in the Southern Ocean and Antarctic (Marc Mallet & Ruhi Humphries & Sonya Fiddes):

time scale problem: turbulent mixing time vs. chemical lifetime
Which new instrumental techniques may exist to improve direct gas/aerosol flux estimates?
Which indirect methods exist to estimate gas/aerosol flux (potentially new to this community)?
How are gas/aerosol fluxes parameterised? How well constrained are the model parameters and what is their uncertainty? Are these parameterisations being used in existing regional/global models? If not, why?
