The event driven Karabo [1] control system has been developed at the European XFEL to operate instruments and photon beam lines. More than ten thousand software devices interact as interfaces to hardware devices, provide system services or high level automation procedures. A core system service is data logging that continuously stores any changes of configurations and slow control data. Since 2020 this data is stored in an InfluxDB [2] database which makes it easily available via the powerful Grafana web interface [3].

This contribution describes the InfluxDB setup with its transparent integration into Karabo, the experiences gained since it is in operation and the resulting adjustments to the setup.
