Description

To complement the facility’s next major upgrade, Diamond Light Source (DLS) is undergoing a programme to modernise its software stack. One area of particular interest is in scanning and experiment orchestration, for which DLS is migrating to the Bluesky framework. As a prototype, a Bluesky implementation of Xray Centring using a 3D grid scan has been implemented on a beamline at DLS. The software has successfully been integrated with existing infrastructure at DLS, including the current DAQ software, the LIMS, NeXus file writing and the analysis pipelines. This talk will present the results from this prototype and the lessons learnt from the project, which will inform the design of the production system and its rollout across the wider facility.
