Two synchrotron light sources are in user operation at KEK, Japan: the 2.5 GeV Photon Factory Storage Ring (PF-ring) and the 5.0-6.5 GeV Photon Factory Advanced Ring (PF-AR). And a compact test facility to develop Energy Recovery Linac technologies, named cERL, is also in operation. For a future light source at KEK, a highly flexible synchrotron radiation source, named Hybrid Ring, is proposed [1]. For R&D for future machines, we have been conducting the research on Non-Evaporable Getter (NEG) coating: measurements of the photon stimulated desorption (PSD) from various types of the NEG and development of new deposition techniques.
