Description

Topological noncollinear magnetic phases of matter are at the heart of many proposals forfuture information nanotechnology, with novel device concepts based on ultrathin filmsand nanowires. Their operation requires understanding and control of the underlyingdynamics, including excitations such as spin waves. In this seminar, we will discuss ourtheoretical work in describing spin waves in noncollinear systems including helimagnetsand skyrmion lattices, where we employ a multiscale approach from density functionaltheory to model Hamiltonians. We will elaborate on nonreciprocity and topology whileconnecting our results to experiments by computing the spin-resolved inelastic scatteringspectra.
