Abstract:
Most genetic alteration occurs in non-coding DNA. However, how these non-coding mutations affect the 3D structure of DNA and, consequently, gene expression in different cell types remains under-explored in the field. While experimental methods exist to measure DNA looping, which is essential for predicting effects caused by mutation, they are often costly and suffer from technical limitations. This presentation will focus on presenting deep learning methods for predicting DNA looping through the exploration of long DNA sequences and open chromatin data.
