Heterostructures composed of two bulk insulating materials with different polarizations can exhibit localized conductive states at the interfaces and could lead to a wide range of technological applications. Currently, most studies focus on perovskite-based materials to engineer such heterostructures, however, their number is limited, and they present several challenges for device fabrication. This project aims to identify, through high-throughput computational techniques, new heterostructures that present interface-localized conductive states. The goal is to expand the list of functional materials beyond perovskites and facilitate the development of novel electronic devices.
