Comments:
- The meeting should have a zoom connection.
- Marco Pedrozzi: is this the final project? Shouldn't we discuss further what is possible, what makes sense etc. Thomas: Yes, but time is very short, we are forced to have these discussion while writing the CDR!
- We need a separate chapter on photonics / adaptions to end stations. Should be written by someone like Rolf Follath.
- Timing and synchronization:
- should be more general, let's call it "Temporal stability advancement". Involves also the pump laser and potentially RF (modulator improvement for more stability).
- Beam dynamics should define a jitter budget, against which RF, T&S etc. can benchmark their systems...
- It would be good to have a direct X-ray pulse arrival time measurement. We should involve Adrian Cavalieri.
- Controls part will be written by Guifré
- Chapter on self-seeding should be organized by bean dynamics, but with strong involvement from photonics (crystals etc.).
- Chapters on Athos can be merged.
- BPM systems: SwissFELplus alone will not require new BPMs, but the Porthos extension will. Thus the period 2029-32 should be used for development of a system that can then be implemented in the period 2033-36. Florian fears that the BPM group will not have enough time to come up with a concept.
- Where do we cover Budget and Schedule? Could be a chapter on its own, or included in Project Overview. (For the time we stick to the latter option.)
- We need a common timeline to see where things have to be developed, ordered etc.
- In general it would be good to have a few reference documents on the project, so everybody is working on the same assumptions.
- This can be stored on SwitchDRIVE, in Teams or on an intranet page...
- Overleaf: chapters should be individual files, to be included with the \include command.
- Every chapter can have its own directory (for images etc.)
- We have to define what "independent operation" of the three beamlines means (quantitative range of simultaneously accessible parameters).
- For instance RF needs to know what exactly the tuning range for RF pulses must be. This specification must come from beam dynamics.
How to proceed: Thomas will clean up the structure and add sections to the chapters. At the next meeting we can then assign more accurately individuals to the sections.
