The MuTRiG is a fast, multi-channel readout chip developed for timing measurement with Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs). It combines excellent timing resolution with high-rate capability, enabling precise measurements in demanding environments. In this talk we will first introduce the main features and performance of MuTRiG. We will then discuss its application in the Mu3e experiment, where it is used to read out the scintillating fibre and tile detector; as a showcase how this chip could be used in future MuSR experiments.
