Testing and validation strategies
What are strategies to test and validate NICOS at facilities before deploying at beamlines? For example, do you have a process in place that you follow before major releases, Python version changes or other changes that could have unexpected side-effects? Have you developed dedicated hardware of software platforms to run such tests on? "Testing" refers more towards any kind of automated or manual integration testing that you perform rather than the (unit) testing of the CI -- but even the latter ties into this, of course.
