DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Marios Manos ((MPI PKS Dresden))\n\nIn this talk\, I
will discuss an instability that is present when optically pumping su
perconducting layers that are Josephson coupled in the presence of a magne
tic field. Remarkably\, this instability survives the high temperature pha
se disordering superconducting to metal transition as long as there is lo
cal pairing correlations. Applied to the case of cuprate superconductors a
nd specifically the underdoped bilayer YBa2Cu3O6+x\, this instability can
be used to probe ultra-local pairing correlations that are typically hidd
en in transport measurements and other linear response probes[1]. I will
argue that beyond the cuprates this instability can be generally exploited
to probe local pairing correlations in fluctuating superconductors.\nIn t
he second part of the talk I will describe how such instability could be u
sed to detect small magnetic fields on ultra-fast time scales in long Jose
phson junction superconducting devices.[2]\n[1] arXiv:2410.12919: Giant Dy
namical Paramagnetism in the driven pseudogap phase of YBa2Cu3O6+x\, M. H.
