DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Hans Rudolf Ott (ETHZ)\, Leonid Rivkin (PSI - Paul S
cherrer Institut)\, Bernhard Auchmann (PSI/CERN)\n\n\n \nThe next collide
r at CERN is a Swiss national science priority. To support this goal\, the
Swiss government and academic institutions partnered with CERN to create
CHART—an umbrella organization for Swiss research collaborations dedicat
ed to accelerator science and technology for the Future Circular Collider
(FCC).\nCHART concentrates its work in four areas:\n\nAccelerator systems
 — the FCC-ee injector complex above all: electron and positron sources\,
  linacs\, capture and damping\nMagnets and superconductors — high-field
 magnets for a future hadron collider\, high-performance Nb3Sn wires\, and
high-temperature superconducting magnets that make acceleratorsmore compac
t and sustainable\nBeam dynamics — how beams behave in a collider: lumin
 osity\, stability\, collective effects\, polarization\nGeology and geodesy
  — the ground the FCC tunnel would pass through\, and the reference fram
es needed to align a 91 km machine \n\n \nAbout the workshop format:\nIn
a future of accelerated development \, increased complexity\, and a risk
of fragmentation\, we want to try a new workshop format\, aimed at improvi
 ng inter-disciplinary understanding\, systems-thinking\, and CHART-wide ne
tworking:After a morning of overview talks on the four focus areas of CHAR
T\, we invite every participant to attend a number of small break-out sess
ions with no more than 5-6 participants. Every willing participant present
s in one session and attends a number of other sessions. Each break-out se
ssion discusses the project of the presenter. Participants get to ask ques
tions in this intimate setting until they feel to have learned something a
bout a discipline that they would not otherwise have ventured into.\nWe wi
ll provide a web interface for you to indicate your preferred sessions at
the end of the morning presentations\, and let an algorithm find the best
fit for the group. Your afternoon’s program will be distributed via eMai
 l. We hope that this format is a valuable learning experience in both ways
\, when we present and explain to colleagues from other fields\, and when
we listen and ask questions!\nIn the registration form\, please indicate w
hether you agree to participate in the scheme by presenting your work\, an
d the title of your session.\nMany thanks in advance for your contribution
