ACHIP Meeting (12 Dec 2016)
Presentation of the vacuum chamber by Goran.
3D drawing includes
> quadrupole magnets on x,y alignment stages
> 6d alignment stage for screen and sample
> z alignment of a screen in the center
No overall alignment of the chamber is planned.
Alignment through girder feet.
Fine alignment with beam.

Total weight: 1.3 tons.
Goran will check with Johan to see how this chamber can be transported.
Weight is OK for the girder.

Vacuum: 1e–6 to 1e–7. Use turbo pumps on both sides of the chamber.
Using viton O-rings for a seal. Issue: radiation hardness?
Load lock chamber installed on top of the chamber.

cable feedthroughs, cable guiding? Needs to be checked!

Make sure that one hole line is on beam and laser axes, respectively!
Make hole spacing 2.5 cm inside chamber

Laser safety: boxes on breadboards
co-propagate an alignment laser, having a wavelength that is an integer fraction of the experimental laser
Laser safety needs to be discussed.

Laser transfer line under pre-vacuum. Optical setup on breadboard in air.

Flip orientation of the two central quadrupoles

Next Steps
> Check load lock
> Check alignment stages for magnets
> Assign connectors / motor feedthroughs to flanges
> Spare flanges / feedthroughs
> Put pumps into the model
> Input from Peter Wiegand expected at the end of January
