areaDetector: EPICS software for 2-D detectors

areaDetector is an EPICS module for controlling 2-D detectors. It supports a large number of detectors, including: CCDs from Rayonix (MAR), ADSC, Bruker, Photometrics, and Princeton Instruments; Dectris Pilatus pixel array detectors; Perkin Elmer flat panel detectors; MAR345 online imaging plate; Prosilica and other GigE cameras; and Firewire cameras. It supports plugins that perform multi-threaded real-time processing and saving of images. It is now in use at many locations, including PSI, APS, NSLS, Cornell, Stanford, Diamond, the Australian Synchrotron and others.<o:p></o:p>

This talk will also briefly introduce R3-0 of the EPICS DXP module, which supports collecting 4,000 spectra/second or 4,000,000 ROIs/second with the XIA xMAP and Mercury DSP-based x-ray spectroscopy systems. This allows very high speed XRF mapping, for example.
