Description
After briefly motivating the use of Hamiltonians to describe the motion of particles in accelerators under the influence of non-linear forces I will discuss a framework to analyze such systems and understand cancellations of non-linear aberrations and knobs to control them. I will briefly touch upon a method to experimentally determine all third order (sextupole) aberrations and finally show how normal forms naturally fit into the framework. For more details contact: A.
