In contrast to CSV, there are no rules about the organization in GitLab at PSI. As a result, by today we have 129 groups that are organized and named in various different ways. It therefore becomes difficult to find a repository without knowing its exact name. To offer a more structured way to store GIT repositories inside GFA, a working group was called to decide on a general structure for storing code in GIT at GFA. Outcome of the working group is described in http://i.psi.ch/4H7a (PDF). This presentation is about this outcome and will explain the structure, how to use it and the rules that apply. The structure proposed does also support code-reuse in an organized way to reduce the overall development effort.
Note that using the structure proposed is not mandatory. However, the more code and especially libraries are stored within it, the more everybody will profit from it.
