Description
The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NRSC) is a technical and scientific research company which provides expertise in the field of nuclear and radiation safety and security of nuclear facilities. The company manages interdisciplinary knowledge, progressive methods and qualified data. The NRSC was established as a closed joint-stock company in 2001. The NRSC is financed by contracts only, and currently has 34 employees; the number of employees depends on the NRSC’s contracts. The NRSC’s main customer is the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA).
Ever since its establishment in 2001, the NRSC has adopted the strategy of continuous development and growth: the NRSC constantly increases its expertise level and expands its activity scope. The NRSC uses the most up-to-date methods and approaches, the best available tools and verified techniques in all its activities, which, in turn, guarantees high quality services for both local and international companies and individuals. Consequently, in the field of nuclear and radiation safety in Armenia, the NRSC becomes the lead organization in the local market and the most reliable partner for the international organizations. The areas of the NRSC specialization are: safety analyses and assessment of nuclear installations, risk assessment of nuclear installations, drafting regulations and guides on different aspects of nuclear and radiation safety, development of emergency response procedures and scenarios for emergency exercises, radiation safety and protection assessment, radiometric and dosimetric measurements and IT support, development of tools and databases.
During this overview the main activity and capability of NRSC will be presented. More detail overview of Thermal Hydraulic Analysis and Multiphysics Simulation Group (THG) will be presented.
