10:45 Energy spread studies at SwissFEL

The uncorrelated energy spread of the electron beam is a fundamental parameter in FEL facilities that needs to be measured and optimized for best performance. In this talk, we will present a novel method to characterize the electron beam energy spread with higher resolution and precision than in the standard dispersion-based approach. Moreover, we will show numerical and experimental studies aimed to understand and improve the electron beam energy spread at SwissFEL.
