1 Data

The Summer School starts on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 8.30 a.m.. The program ends on Friday, August 17, 2018, with the conference dinner. Departure is on Saturday, August 18, 2018, after breakfast. Participants are expected to arrive on Sunday afternoon, August 12, 2018. Registration takes place at the Lyceum Alpinum in the "Grosshaus" on August 12, 2018, from 4.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m.

2 Location

The Lyceum is an assembly of large buildings at the north-eastern end of the village about 200 m above the main road. The access road departs from the main road near a little chapel (see map of Zuoz). From the train station the Lyceum can be reached by a 15 minutes walk uphill.

3 Accommodation

All participants will be accommodated at the Lyceum where they will also have their meals. As the Lyceum is a boarding school, you should not expect very luxurious rooms. Towels are available in the rooms (only one per person), but it is recommended to bring an additional towel. It is also recommended to bring shower gel, hair dryer, razor etc. and an adapter for Swiss plug sockets with you. Keys for the rooms are not available. However, valuables can be locked in the secretariat. 
The whole Lyceum including the school area is a NON-SMOKING AREA.
Smoking is allowed only at the marked smoking area!

4 Car park

If you arrive by car, please use the area in front of the main entrance of the Lyceum only for unloading the car. For parking use the marked parking place.

6 . Secretariat

The secretariat is located close to the lecture hall and will be open from 8.00 – 12.15 and from 16.15 to 18.15 h.

7 Internet

WLAN Access will be available. Internet connection is also possible in your room at restricted times (LAN Connection, please bring your own cable with you!)

8 Meals

Meals are served in the Lyceum at the following times: Breakfast 07.30 - 08.15 h Lunch 12.30 h Dinner 19.00 h Coffee and tea will be served in the dining room at the times indicated on the program, free of charge for all participants. Wine, beer, juice and mineral water can be purchased during the main meals.

9 Afternoon excursions

You may obtain a lunch box if you do not want to stay at the Lyceum for lunch. Please put your name on the list at the secretariat before the beginning of the lectures (8.30 a.m.) of the day in question. The region invites to go hiking or climbing. To watch nature and animals during a tour it might be useful to bring binoculars. In any case it is strongly recommended to have good shoes and to bring sunscreen with you. This also applies to the group excursion planned for Wednesday afternoon.

10 Football and tennis

A football pitch close to the school can be used in the lunch breaks and/or the free evenings. So if you are interested, just bring your football boots and sports clothes with you! 
A tennis court is also available. If you want to play tennis, please bring your own tennis racket with you.

11 Clothing

Zuoz is located at 1.750 m above sea level. You are advised to bring some warm clothes. It can get cold (especially in the evening hours)!

12 Health insurance

Please make sure that you have a valid health insurance during your stay in Switzerland. Be aware that PSI will not cover any costs in case of sickness and/or accident.
