Scope

To mark the retirement of Eberhard H. Lehmann

We take the occasion of the change in the group leadership in the “Neutron Imaging & Activation Group (NIAG)” due to the retirement of Eberhard Lehmann to hold a half a day symposium about
“Neutron Imaging at PSI” . Essential and important results from studies at the PSI’s neutron imaging facilities (NEUTRA and ICON at SINQ) will be presented and should give reason for further related
discussions.

The focus of the event is on past, present and future users of these facilities and the related imaging techniques and experts of the involved scientific disciplines.

The following topics and speakers are confirmed:
• Sascha Oswald und Andrea Carminati: plant – soil -interaction
• Christian David: Grating Interferometry with neutrons … and how it started
• David Mannes: the story of the „sword from Zug“
• Bernhard Walfort: new scintillators for neutrons
• Günther Scherer: studies for fuel cells and batteries – with neutrons and other means
• Peter Niemz: neutrons in wood research
• Markus Strobl, new group leader NIAG: prospects for neutron imaging at PSI

The 20 minutes contributions will be presented in a demonstrative manner.
