Motivated by upcoming large projects at PSI like SLS2.0 and due to increasing demands for performance (more data, faster processing) of various subsystems in accelerator and beamlines, we at department of electronics and control system (AEK) have been working on evaluation and development of proper hardware tools for building the future embedded control and DAQ systems. In this talk I will first present the strategic decision we made for hardware technology path (e.g. move away from VME and go for CPCI-S) and then describe the portfolio which is partially under development, as well as the roadmap what to expect in near future.
