Michael:

Made a script for automatizing mudirac running

Adapted Frederik's mudirac hack to also have the skin thickness as an input parameter --> Pushed to bitbucket as new branch

Change in energy due to changing skin thickness is almost identical for all radii and barely different within np-1s for all isotopes of K

ELET optimization: run files, save waveforms, optimize without analyzer

Method A (current method): t_ELET = 2*t_lower - t_upper

Method B (new method): t_ELET = (f*t_lower - t_upper)/(f-1) --> Slightly better for MB and BEGE detectors, but a bit worse for regular detectors

Especially for BEGEs, Method B is quite nice

Muon stopping in SRIM

Tested different types of plastic --> Stopping range ~1-1.5 mm and straggling ~50 µm

Stopping range in KCl ~1mm --> What do we want to do for the targets? Preferably not in air because of chemical reactivity

Katharina:

Went to Heidelberg for microcalorimeter

Tuning 32 out of 64 squids --> 7 eV resolution

Prone to noise, walking in the corridor could be seen on the signal

Stella:

Gas cell pressure testing

Carbon fiber support grid: Starts leaking at high pressure --> Not an option

Plastic support grid: Almost breaks immediately --> nowhere near to an option

Keep with titanium support grid for now

Higher order deformation

beta4 deformation measurements in old muonic atom papers agree with HF calculations and coulomb excitation measurements

Talked with Wouter Ryssens --> skin thickness parameter is different along shortened and lengted axis

Cascade code:

Calculating intensities for direct and indirect capture. Some errors pop up, but were previously just ignored

Can probably give Michael some preliminary values for K, Au, Cr, and Ba (to get muon capture rates from last year)
