A PSI-FELLOW program event for PSI's PhD students and postdocs
A symposium on Career Narratives for Early Career Researchers in Academia and Industry
In June of this year, the PSI Fellow Board, 2023, under the patronage of the PSI-FELLOW-III-3i Programme*, cordially invites you to engage in a candid conversation with curated young professionals who have recently navigated the challenges you are about to face head-on. The dialogue will center around the nuanced complexities of real-life scenarios of the speakers, who successfully blended their academic pursuits with the dynamic demands of industry, all while gracefully managing familial and administrative boundary conditions.
While the symposium is grounded in scientific principles, its essence lies in the unscripted, authentic journeys of individuals from diverse socio-economic and geographic backgrounds. The primary aim is that through the speakers’ narratives, our Ph.D. and postdoc community can hope to gain insights into the perspectives and pitfalls of venturing into uncharted territories.
Additionally, the symposium will feature separate tête-à-têtes– candid discussion panels focusing on both industry and academia where participants can pose specific career- and research-related questions. Furthermore, a "sandwich-lunch" session will provide attendees with a relaxed setting to network with speakers and fellow participants, fostering meaningful connections and collaborations.
Participation is free of cost. Maximum number of participants is limited to 70.
