Dear colleagues,
The next CPS Snow Day will take place on Friday, 27 February 2026, in the ski area of Wangs-Pizol in the Kanton of St.Gallen. Bad-weather date is Friday, 6 March.
The Pizol ski area offers 50 kilometers of slopes for all skill levels, from beginner runs to black, along with fun options like sledging, scenic winter hikes, and snowshoe walks.
It promises an experience that leaves nothing to be desired, including majestic views of the surrounding mountains, followed by our traditional apéro, and fondue dinner!
After dinner, we can hit the slopes again for some night-skiing or sledging until 21:30. Last gondola descends at 22:30. Night-skiing/sledging it is included in the ticket price, providing we stay up on the mountain the entire time. Which we will, as our dinner location is half-way up.

Equipment rental
You can rent all types of equipment from either the mountain or valley stations of the gondola, making it easy to enjoy a full day on the slopes. You can return the rentals conveniently before dinner or deposit them safely in the valley after night skiing. Link
Meeting point / Ticket distribution 08:30-09:00
Wangs-Pizol is located an easy one-hour train ride from Zurich (SBB to "Wangs, Pizolbahn") and the gondola starts operation at 08:15. You can of course also arrive by car. For car pooling, please coordinate among yourselves or contact lsx-admin@psi.ch.

The prepaid group-rate tickets will be distributed between 08:30-09:00 at the valley station of the Pizolbahn Wangs. After that, we'll get ready to head skywards. Remaining tickets can be left at the counter for personal pick-up.
Ticket cancellations are possible - if received by 08:00 on the snow day
Please contact me on my private mobile at the very latest at 08:00 on the snow day if you need to cancel a pre-paid ticket! The phone number will be provided to all participants via e-mail once the registration period is closed.
Refunds are possible, but only if you contact me in time. Therefore, please save my number and let me know promptly if your plans change! Which means before 08:00 on the snow day. Once I have purchased your ticket, the money is gone. Of course, I'm hoping that nobody will use this option as I am looking forward to seeing all of you!
Lunch - Panorama restaurant Pizolhütte
The panorama restaurant Pizolhütte will be our destination for lunch around 12:00/12:15. Lunch is an open venue, no registrations necessary. We meet on informal timing, depending on your fun level and skiing schedules.
Apéro & Fondue dinner - Restaurant Schönbüel
After the day in the snow, we will meet at at the Restaurant Schönbüel. It is located directly next to the slopes and the sledge run, and 10 minutes walking distance from the Maienberg gondola stop.
The apéro will start at 17:00, dinner at 18:00, you are cordially invited!
As night falls, adventure time begins... NIGHT SKIING!
After dinner, those who wish can go night skiing, snowboarding, or sledging a few more runs until 21:30! The use of the gondola Maienberg-Furt and Maienberg-Wangs is included in the ticket price.
Ticket price: day pass at group rate CHF60.00
Tickets for skiers and snowboarders include all lift facilities. In order to benefit from the group rate, the tickets have to be reserved and paid by Thursday, 19. February.

The CPS Snow Day is a social activity day, participation is optional. As per PSI regulations, one such day per employee/year can be registered as "paid leave".
