Welcome to our webpage for PSI Operando Day!
Operando refers to the characterization of functional materials performed under reaction conditions with simultaneous measurement of their performance. PSI has many groups that are at the forefront of using and developing operando methods in different fields of chemistry, which manifests in the Center for Operando Spectroscopy Studies (COSS).
We cordially invite you to the second edition of PSI Operando Day, where PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from different groups will give an overview of their state-of-the-art research using operando methods thus providing a small overview of the activities at PSI.
We are pleased to have a renowned speaker, Prof. Elena Groppo (University of Turin). She focuses primarily on the fields of catalysis and spectroscopy with significant contributions to understanding the mechanisms and properties of catalytic systems at a molecular level. Her work encompasses various techniques, notably XAS, IR spectroscopy, and neutron scattering.
Join us as we explore the pivotal role of operando research in shaping the future of energy materials. We look forward to your participation in this exciting exchange of ideas!
Please register by the 10th September 2025 so that we have enough coffee and lunch available.
