Terms and Conditions
DEFINITIONS
These Terms and Conditions apply to every person registering as a delegate for the International Symposium on Beyond Lithium-Ion Batteries 2026 - BeLi26, to be held at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, on 28 June - 3 July 2026.
All references to a date or a deadline mentioned in these terms and on other conference documents refer to the Central European Time Zone (CET).
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Participation at the conference is only final upon receipt of full payment. If payment is not received before the deadline indicated, the registration will remain valid, but the fee will increase according to the payment period (early/regular).
The registration fee includes entry to all conference sessions, coffee breaks and lunches as scheduled, the poster reception, and conference materials. Conference dinner and social events are charge separately. Accommodation and travel are not included.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Payments must be made in advance using a credit card.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Substitutes may be arranged without additional cost if notified to the organisers as soon as possible.
Delegates cancelling their registration will be eligible for:

a full refund until 15 April 2026

a 50% refund from 16 April– 1 May 2026

no refund from 2 May 2026
Refunds are subject to a CHF 50 handling fee. Notice of cancellation must be sent in writing to the organisers at irena.disic@psi.ch and must include full details of the bank account for any refund.
INSURANCE
Registration fees do not include insurance. Participants are strongly advised to take out personal insurance, including cover for travel, accommodation, health, and personal possessions. The organisers do not assume liability for cancellations, illness, accidents, theft, or damage.
LIABILITY
The organisers will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, accident, or injury occurring during the conference. Attendees are liable for any losses or damages they cause to personal property or conference premises and must indemnify the organisers against resulting costs.
PRIVACY
By registering, you agree that your personal data may be used by the BeLi26 Organising Committee for conference-related purposes, including delegate lists, name badges, and email communication. You may unsubscribe from communications at any time by contacting the organisers.
Please be aware that photography, audio, and video recording may take place at this event. By participating in this event, you consent to being recorded and for the material to be used for promotional and archival purposes, including on our website and social media.
LETTER OF INVITATION
Delegates requiring a visa support letter may request one during registration. To receive an official invitation, delegates must complete registration and payment. The invitation does not imply any financial commitment by the organisers.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
It is the sole responsibility of delegates to meet visa requirements. Delegates should contact the nearest Swiss embassy or consulate in good time to ensure visas are obtained before travel.
CANCELLATION OF THE CONFERENCE
In the event that BeLi26 cannot be held or is postponed due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control (force majeure), the organisers cannot be held liable for any costs incurred by delegates (e.g. travel, accommodation). In such cases, refunds may be issued after deducting irrecoverable costs.
DATA PROTECTION AND SECURITY
The organisers will comply with Swiss data protection legislation and ensure that personal data are protected against unauthorised access by third parties.
SEVERABILITY
Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions be deemed invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The invalid provision shall be replaced with one that best achieves the intended purpose.
APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Switzerland, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be settled by the ordinary courts of Aarau, Switzerland. The organisers reserve the right to seek interim measures at any competent jurisdiction.
