Excursion Afternoon – Thursday, 8 October 2026
Discover a small part of Switzerland during the conference afternoon on Thursday.
From traditional Swiss cheesemaking to scenic alpine and lakeside walks, several excursion options are available for Regio2026 participants.
The excursions will start after lunch at approximately 13:15 and return in time for the conference dinner at Zentrum Neu-Schönstatt.
🧀 Become a Swiss Cheesemaker
Experience a piece of Swiss alpine tradition and make your own cheese at the historic Brauchtumskäserei on Flumserberg.
Guided by an experienced cheesemaker, participants will learn how cheese was traditionally produced over an open fire and actively take part in the process themselves. The workshop offers a unique insight into Swiss mountain culture and local craftsmanship.
An OK member will accompany the group during the excursion.

⛰️ Alpine Hike – Route of Wonder
Join us for a scenic panoramic hike on Flumserberg along the beautiful Route of Wonder.
This alpine trail offers impressive mountain scenery, peaceful nature, and spectacular views over the surrounding region. The route combines easy hiking with a relaxed social atmosphere — perfect for enjoying the Swiss Alps together with fellow conference participants.
An OK member will accompany the group during the excursion.

🌰 Lakeside Walk – Kastanienweg
Prefer a more relaxed afternoon? Join us for an easy walk near Lake Walen inspired by the scenic Kastanienweg.
The route follows quiet paths through forests and open landscapes above the lake and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the autumn atmosphere of the region.
The walk starts directly from Zentrum Neu-Schönstatt and is suitable for participants who prefer a shorter and easier outdoor activity.
An OK member will accompany the walk, but participants are also welcome to explore parts of the route independently.
