Summary
Writing is a cornerstone of science. Together with conferences and workshops, the publication of scientific methods and results via peer reviewed publications is the primary method of communicating new scientific ideas to the community. On the other hand, peer review, the process by which scientific publications are independently reviewed by experts in the field, is an essential ‘quality assurance’ process to ensure the correctness, impact and credibility of such publications. In this presentation, we will provide suggestions and hints on good practice in scientific publications, together with the processes, expectations and importance of the peer review system.
