Description

The CERN Linac4 Drift Tube Linac will operate at a frequency of 352.2MHz with an average field of about 3MV/m.

H- ion beams of 40 mA average pulse current are to be accelerated from 3 to 50 MeV by three RF cavities at a duty cycle of up to 10%.

The working principle, RF design and prototype measurements will be presented in order to have a general understanding of such an accelerating structure.
