Aim:
Exchange of ideas and networking of condensed matter researchers at PSI, in particular Neutrons/Muons/Photons(i.e. mainly LNS, LMU, LDM, LMX, CMT, LSC, LMN, and SwissFEL Photonics)
Participants: PhD, Postdocs and staff scientists
Format: talks (overview and specific) and posters

This should be the start of a yearly meeting with a varying main topic.
The 2016 topic is: Magnetism in novel materials
Sessions about:- Quantum effects
- Coupling (interfaces, order parameters, etc.)
- Nanoscale
- Dynamics (slow and fast)
- Blue Sky (for other topics or larger, new projects, or perspectives of a topic)
Format:
The talk/posters should primarily be given by PhD students, Postdocs and junior staff scientists.Overview talks (15+5): given by a lab head or senior scientist. Should give an overview of the activities of the Department, e.g. which groups do exist, which instrumentation and topics.
Regular talks (15+5): about a specific project, focus should be given to open questions. E.g. Motivation/status/open question and future
Flash talks (5min): short talks (three slides), new project ideas, e.g. where one is looking for partners or has question (a Flash talk can be accompanied by a Poster, but don’t has to)
Posters: can be a poster which have been presented at a conference/workshop in the last year or of course new ones.
