Konzept Operator Training SwissFEL
    • 09:00 10:00
      Review list of open issues
      Convener: Didier Voulot
      • The format of data files produced by scans, camera images and other tools should be standardised. Nicole will collect request and ideas which can be discussed witth Simon and Alex in a future operation software meeting (possibly next week).
      • A single setting request file has been created. This req file should contain all setting channels relevant for operation. Next step would be to create a req file with K-values for magnet settings. Need an agreement with BD.
      • The daily gun and laser setup (jupyter notebook) has been tested successfully. From now on the 6-10h slot is by default reserved for operation training with the MO (8h-10h) or by operators alone (6h-8h). Nicole will prepare training material for different training units (attached document).
      • Photonics panels: demo panel exist already they need to be finalised (remove simulation). The screen panel should be adapted to accommodate other camera based diagnostics (PPRM, PSCR, PSRD) with device specific side bar.
      • QR map software: a git project was created, the software will be improved. The goal is to make it faster ideally using bs read data to correlate charge and position with the bunch ID.
      • Marco Boll will work on a python application to display the BLM and LLM data. Christoph will supervise him and provide a short written specification.
      • Overview panel: Stefan has included BLM data display on top of the BPM plot.
      • Laser alarms defined by the laser team will be included in the alarm handler. Transient vacuum alarms should be filtered out but not when the MPS is triggered. The LLRF configuration still needs improvement: too many alarms are generated that do not require any action from the control room.
      • The tunnel access panel has been tested. Some issues with the rf station states need to be addressed. Alessandro will also provide a panel showing which doors need to be closed before starting the patrol.
      • The PSYS panel will be upgraded after the September shutdown. The new version should also provide detailed info on missing conditions.
