Abstract: The Multiscale Materials Modelling (MMM) group emerged from the fuel modelling group within the Laboratory for Reactor Physics and Systems Behaviour (LRS, now LRT). While its original scope was primarily focused on the modelling of nuclear materials, the MMM group is now going to broaden its scope to all kinds of materials. On the other hand, the employed methods and tools will mostly remain the same. An overview of these methods and tools will be given showing their power and versatility for materials modelling. Most of the simulation methods are implemented in the CP2K program packages which is the main tool applied by the MMM group. The MMM group is part of the CP2K developer team and in this way it contributes actively to the development of the open source code CP2K.
