Description

Abstract:
NMIJ (National Metrology Institute of Japan) develops national standard of many physical and engineering standards in Japan. Major work of our group is to develop the standard of liquid flow rate measurement and we have developed water and hydrocarbon facility to supply national standard of liquid flow rate. Recently, the presenter has developed high Reynolds number water flow facility (up to 20 million of bulk) with high accurate flow rate measurement. Using this facility, research works for not only flow rate measurement technique but also fundamental experiments of turbulent pipe flow have been carried out. The detail of developed facility and several research topics, which are the flow nozzle and friction factor of pipe, will be presented.

Bio:
The presenter is a group leader of liquid flow standard group, National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. The presenter is also calibration authority of water flow rate in Japan. The presenter research focus on flow measurement using ultrasonic and laser in wide range flow field.
