We are pleased to announce the upcoming Rhine-Knee Regional Meeting on X-ray Crystallography of Biomacromolecules ("Regio Meeting"), which has been a valuable platform for young scientists to engage in discussions with experts in the field of structural biology since its initiation in 1987 by Profs. J.N. Jansonius, G.E. Schulz, and D. Moras. Over the past 25 years, the meeting has maintained its informal and personal character while growing into an international event that showcases new macromolecular structures and innovative methods at a high level.

This year's Regio Meeting will be held from October 10th to 12th, 2023, at Seminarhotel Rigi in Weggis, Switzerland. We invite researchers to submit their abstracts online, after registering, until August 30th. Abstracts should emphasize techniques, methods, and challenges encountered in the field of structural biology. The meeting will feature sessions dedicated to the following topics:

  • AI and deep learning applications,
  • in situ structural biology,
  • methods for structure determination,
  • membrane proteins,
  • molecular machines,
  • ligand studies.

We are honored to have esteemed key note lecturers: Prof. Mateo Dal Peraro (EPFL), Prof. Benoit Zuber (University Bern), Dr. Thomas Braun (University of Basel), Dr. Michael Hennig (LeadXPro), Prof. Olga Mayans (University of Konstanz), and Dr. Andrea Prota (PSI).

While the meeting is open to all participants, we have a limited capacity of 80 attendees, and priority will be given to young scientists from the extended Rhine-Knee region. We encourage early registration to secure your place.

Scientific Organizers:

- J.P. Abrahams (Biozentrum & PSI)
- Roger Benoit (PSI)
- Florence Pojer (EPFL)

For any inquiries, please reach out to Anita Strittmatter (PSI) at the secretariat.
