      The UCN system for n2EDM

Ultracold neutrons (UCN) can be stored for several minutes, and can therefore be used to study the properties of the neutron. I will give an introduction to ultracold neutron physics. I will explain the production of UCN, the principles of UCN transport. Further, I will discuss how we used measurements and neutron transport simulations to investigate the UCN transmission of the UCN guide system for n2EDM.

MUonE & Muon g-2 – How theorists can help

The CERN-based experiment MUonE aims at shedding new light on the ever more intricate physics concerning the muon g-2. I will be giving a theory-biased account of their plans, with a focus on why actual new light should be coming from their results, and why this entails a set of demanding challenges, from both the experimental and the theoretical point of view. Details will be given for the latter only – no cables.

Speaker: Marco Rocco (PSI - Paul Scherrer Institut)
