General travel information

PSI is located in northern Switzerland, approximately 25 km north of Zürich and midway between Zürich and Basel. The nearest towns and railway stations are Baden and Brugg. Frequent air and train connections via Zürich or Basel are available from all major European and international cities.

Please ensure your passport is valid until well after you plan to end your trip. If your current passport is due to expire within this period,  then you must renew your passport before your departure.

Transportation

Switzerland offers a dense network of reliable and safe public transportation. You can use the Swiss railway system app (SBB app) or website to find connections and book tickets across the whole transportation network (trains, buses, trams, etc).

If you consider travelling by car, note that you will need to pay  parking fees at PSI!

The commuting time from Baden main station to PSI east is approximately 21 minutes by public transport (train and bus). To buy a ticket or for the time table, please see https://www.sbb.ch/en. 

Visa requirements

Please check the information of the Swiss Federal Office for Migration to see if you need a visa to enter Switzerland. Registered participants should contact ! uxss2025@psi.ch ! after payment of the registration fee to receive the inivitation letter required for the visa application.
