Scope of the Conference
The scientific program will cover experimental and theoretical aspects of the synthesis of superheavy elements, nuclear reactions, nuclear structure, chemistry, atomic properties, and related topics. It will consist of invited lectures, oral presentations selected on the basis of submitted abstracts, and poster contributions.
Topics
All topics in the scope of this conference shall be discussed and we ask for submission of contributions. In particular, we invite contributions on the heaviest elements from both experiment and theory, including the following topics:
-
Theories and experiments of heaviest-element synthesis
-
Nuclear reaction studies
-
Nuclear structure and spectroscopy
-
Atomic physics studies
-
Chemical properties of transactinide elements
-
Technical developments
-
Large-scale facilities in the field of superheavy element research
Venue
The conference will take place in Stoos, a car-free mountain village at 1305 m (4282 ft), accessible by the world’s steepest funicular. Stoos is located near the famous Lake Lucerne in the canton of Schwyz, one of the three founding cantons of Switzerland. Our conference hotel "Hotel Stoos Lodge" (see here for more information) is conveniently situated right at the summit station. The entire hotel is reserved for our conference, and participants will be able to reserve a room (single, double, or in exceptional cases triple rooms) during registration. In case we use all 100 rooms, additional rooms may be booked at the second hotel "Wellness Hotel Stoos" (see here for more information). Accompanying persons may explore the surrounding area on foot or visit nearby Lucerne as well as other cities.
