Description

The CLIC Test Facility (CTF3) has been built by an international collaboration in order to test some of the key feasibility issues for a high-energy e+/e- linear collider, based on the so-called “two beam acceleration scheme”. The feasibility issues tested at CTF3 include the generation of a very high current drive bean and its stable deceleration in 12 GHz resonant structures, in order to produce high- power RF pulses that will be used to accelerate the main beam. The CTF3 facility and its recently accomplished milestones will be presented with a focus put on the diagnostics developed in order to commission the CTF3 facility, understand the machine’s performance and verify the generation of the 12 GHz drive beam.
