The PSI Summer School will be held during six days of lectures in Zug, followed by a practical training at PSI in Villigen for approx. 20 participants.
The school will alternate between lectures introducing basic theories and experimental techniques, the latter mainly given by PSI staff, and comprehensive overviews of particular research fields mainly presented by international expert speakers. The program will cover different scientific aspects of magnetic phenomena and will be dominated by Solid State Physics. The lecturers are recruited internationally and are prominent researchers in their field in Europe and worldwide. A poster session will give the opportunity for the students to present their scientific work. For details please see "timetable".
In between lectures, participants will have the chance to deepen the understanding of the methods and phenomena through discussions with lecturers and PSI staff scientists and last but not least also to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Zug and it's lake as well as take part in the planned outdoor activities.
