Overview
The goal of the 1 day in-house workshop is to support YOUNG RESEARCHERS to improve their scientific writing skills for journal articles.
The workshop will focus on delivering skills to participants to become more effective writers and to improve the output and quality of their research publications.
The day will comprise several cycles of learning, discussing and critiquing.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to
1. Describe the manuscript review process
2. Effectively lead the manuscript writing process
3. Understand key issues underlying manuscript authorship, integrity and ethics
4. Manage data and references
5. Present data clearly in tables and figures
6. Understand the requirements for each section of the journal article text
7. Draft a concise manuscript abstract and text
8. Edit their own work to improve organisation and style and remove typos.
