Description
The European XFEL (EuXFEL) facilitates high-resolution structural studies of biological systems at MHz pulse repetition rates. Serial femtosecond crystallography (SFX) - next to scattering and imaging techniques - is the most common approach. Time-resolved structural studies are enabled with optical pump-probe or mixing experiments. To accommodate the MHz repetition rate, sample delivery methods are in demand which ensure quick and efficient sample renewal. The Sample Environment and Characterization (SEC) group at EuXFEL develops these methods and supports users during their experiments. In this presentation developments in sample delivery via liquid jet injection, high viscosity extruder, drop-on-demand and fixed targets will be discussed. Additionally, the recently introduced beamtime access via the QUick Access Screening Time (QUAST) approach and the SEC user support will be described.
