Prof. Frédéric Sirois, Polytechnique Montréal, Canada
I have been an active researcher in HTS modelling for more than 25 years, with a focus on the development of numerical methods specialized for electromagnetic and thermal problems involving superconductors. Although my initial focus has been on power applications and AC loss calculations, I also contributed to improve the modelling accuracy of quench problems in fault current limiters and more recently, magnets. I also had activities involving bulk superconductors for magnetic levitation and magnetic steering of medications in blood vessels. I am one of the co-founder of the modelling workshops and website, and I wish to get back on the steering committee to further improve its operation.
