As a member of the Design and Analysis group within the Magnet Section at PSI, I have gained significant experience in FEM simulations and modeling applied to magnets. My specialized work in HTS focuses on electromagnetic modeling of HTS magnets. My research is focused in the application of HTS tapes for fast ramping purposes. My work involves simulating AC losses for insulated HTS pancakes and CORC-like HTS cables. Specifically, I have implemented semi-analytical models to assess the AC loss behavior of HTS tapes in complex 3D geometries, such as CCT. I have also implemented A-H formulations for 2D pancake simulations. My numerical research is deeply integrated with experimental activities, encompassing everything from the manufacture to the testing of pancakes and CORC® solenoids in collaboration with Advanced Conductor Technologies LLC. I have performed several experimental campaigns to validate and refine the numerical models, ensuring their accuracy and applicability.
