Post-Conference Excursion

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, you have the opportunity to visit famous Zermatt and the high altitude observatory Gornergrat.

Zermatt (1620 m above sea level) is the mountain village of superlatives: The famous Matterhorn, 38 four-thousand-meter peaks, beautiful hotels, high-class gastronomy – life vibrates 365 days a year. The vacation destination is a car-free zone and has preserved its original character of a Walser village with over 500 year old wooden houses. Everything is within walking distance - even romantic quarters and quiet corners.

Read more about unique Zermatt.

Gornergrat is a rocky ridge, overlooking the Gorner Glacier south-east of Zermatt and offering spectacular views of the Matterhorn, the glaciers and the Monte-Rosa massif. It can be reached from Zermatt by the Gornergrat rack railway, the highest open-air railway in Europe. The Kulmhotel Gornergrat (3120 m above sea level) hosts the two observatories Gornergrat North and Gornergrat South.
